Exams

The RHCSA® Exam (EX200)

Becoming a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) requires passing the RHCSA® Exam (EX200) consisting of one section lasting up to 2.5 hours. The certification exam is performance-based, meaning that candidates must perform tasks on a live system, rather than answering questions about how one might perform those tasks. The hands-on nature of this exam makes real-world experience a critical facet of preparation.

RHCSA certifications have a current window for 3 calendar years after they are earned. See recertification policies for more information.

The RHCE® Exam (EX300)

Becoming a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) requires passing the performance-based RHCE® Exam (EX300). The certification exam is performance-based, meaning that candidates must perform tasks on a live system, rather than answering questions about how one might perform those tasks for Red Hat Enterprise Linux® systems. The hands-on nature of this exam makes real-world experience a critical facet of preparation. Exam results are emailed within 5 business days following the exam.

RHCSA and RHCE certifications have a current window for 3 calendar years after they are earned. See recertification policies for more information. For RHCE, this 'current' window can be extended by earning additional Red Hat credentials. See recertification policies for more information.
