I have been struggling with how to explain what the VeriSM™ Approach is and why anyone should care for some time now.\u00a0 We have worked with Dr. Suzanne Van Hove for years.\u00a0 We admire Suzanne and know that if she gets behind something that we need to take notice.\u00a0 Suzanne is an educator and an expert\u2026the real deal.\u00a0 So why have I had such a hard time understanding why the VeriSM Approach was developed?<\/p>\n

Why I Didn\u2019t Understand<\/strong><\/h3>\n

To be honest I think it was because I was too IT focused and did not understand the depth and breadth of the VeriSM Approach.\u00a0 It started when Suzanne told me she wanted to produce the VeriSM courses.\u00a0 I said sure and we did it.\u00a0 Then I started to talking to my main audience, IT Professionals, and no one got it.\u00a0 They all asked me, \u201cwhy do we need VeriSM when we have ITIL, AGILE, DevOps, etc?”\u00a0 Until now, I did not have an answer.\u00a0 I knew that VeriSM did not replace ITIL or AGILE or DevOps, etc., but I could not explain the VeriSM Value Proposition.<\/p>\n

The more I read the more I heard things like the VeriSM Approach is Service Management for the Digital Age.\u00a0 Ok, that meant absolutely nothing to me.\u00a0 Now I am a marketing and sales person and that is for sure a great marketing catch phrase, but I didn\u2019t know what it meant.\u00a0 Is the world almost completely digital these days?\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Does every department in and organization have a digital footprint?\u00a0 Sure, but so what?\u00a0 What is the VeriSM Approach and why should the C Suite, every department in an organization, yes every department\u2026HR, Sales, Customer Service\u2026and IT, care?\u00a0 Why should they all learn what the VeriSM Approach is?\u00a0 Why should they adopt the VeriSM Approach?\u00a0 And why don\u2019t they understand that VeriSM is not a replacement for anything?\u00a0 Not ITIL. Not DevOps.\u00a0 Not Agile.\u00a0 Not COBIT.\u00a0 Not any of the ISO Standards.<\/p>\n

The Answer<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After much study, attending the\u00a0VeriSM Foundation course<\/u><\/a>\u00a0and asking a ton of questions I finally understood why so many people do not understand VeriSM.\u00a0 The reason that VeriSM is not understood\u00a0is that VeriSM is more than we have ever dreamed of.\u00a0 We need to think outside of the box to understand it.\u00a0 It is a wrapper.\u00a0 It sits outside the pieces of the puzzle.\u00a0 It is what allows the puzzle to go together seamlessly.\u00a0 It is not a framework.\u00a0It is not a standard.\u00a0 It is the icing that holds the whole cake together.\u00a0 It is what enables all the ingredients to work together and to create the best cake ever.<\/p>\n

When you Google the word\u00a0Verism<\/strong>\u00a0the definition that pops up says, \u201cVerism is the artistic preference of contemporary everyday subject matter instead of the heroic or legendary in art and literature; it is a form of realism. The word comes from Latin verus (true).\u201d\u00a0 And then it all came together for me.\u00a0 The VeriSM Approach is truth.\u00a0 It is a form a realism.\u00a0 It is practical.\u00a0 It is inclusive.<\/p>\n

So What Is VeriSM?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

VeriSM<\/strong>\u00a0takes the successful service management approach that is second nature in IT organizations and transmits the service first mindset throughout the entire organization.\u00a0 The result is a flexible and agile organization designed to meet and exceed customer expectations.\u00a0 Loyal customers.\u00a0 Agile Employees.\u00a0 Profitable business and Success.\u00a0 With VeriSM organizations will digitally transform themselves and be able to deliver products and services that meet and exceed customer requirements.<\/p>\n

The VeriSM Approach, when applied, will build your organization into a flexible and well-oiled machine ready to deliver products and services in a way that exceed customer requirements, strengthens your position in the market place and establishes a loyal customer base.\u00a0 It embraces your entire organization and sets\u00a0 you up for success.<\/p>\n

Can You Afford to Ignore VeriSM?\u00a0 Probably Not.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you answer\u00a0YES<\/strong>\u00a0to 1 or more of these questions, then learning more about what VeriSM can do for you and your organization is the next step.<\/p>\n
