David Chung
David Chung is an independent consultant, trainer and courseware developer. He has 17 years of industryexperience starting as a C and C++ developer and transitioning to Java in 1996 (JDK 1.0).
For the last 10 years, David has worked as a trainer and consultant in the application server and SOA space most of the time working for BEA/Oracle. He has recent production experience in WebLogic Server, Oracle Service bus and the Oracle SOA Suite.
David is a co‐author of: Java Unleashed, Tips of the Java Programming Gurus, Maximum Java and C# for Java Programmers. He was the technical editor of Pure Java 2 and contributed to WebLogic for Dummies. He is co‐founder of 380JUG, the Eastern Iowa Java users group and is a frequent conference speaker. He has given presentations on Java and SOA technologies at: 380 Java Users Group, Chicago Java Users Group, IEEE Midwest Solutions Conference, IEEE FallCon, The Bazaar(New York City), Association of IT Professionals and JavaOne.
David is a contributing author of the following Oracle University courses: WebLogic Server Administration, Advanced WebLogic Server Administration and Developing Enterprise Web Services. During his tenure at BEA/Oracle he also served on the design team and as a content and lab reviewer for numerous other Oracle University courses. David was the author of the BEA Certified Server Specialist certification exam and served as a reviewer for all other BEA certifications. He also serves on the expert groups that designed and created the following certifications: Sun Certified Java Developer, Sun Certified Java Programmer, Sun Certified Java Web Service Developer, and Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for the Java Platform.
