Course Description
This Microsoft Windows Server 2008 online training course, Part 1 of a two-part series, provides a solid foundation in configuring a network infrastructure, and prepares you to take exam 70-642. Some of the training topics include IP Addressing, Routing, IPSec, DNS, Remote and wireless network access, Network Access Protection, Configure file and print services, Distributed File System (DFS) and monitoring a Windows Server 2008 infrastructure.
In order to take this course you need to have taken Microsoft Windows Server 2008-Configuration Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and have a solid foundation-level understanding of Microsoft server operating systems and internet technologies.
Once you have completed Microsoft Windows Server 2008-Configuring a Network Infrastructure Part 1 the next course in this series is Microsoft Windows Server 2008-Configuring a Network Infrastructure Part 2. When you pass Exam 70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring, you complete the requirements for the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring certification.
This exam also counts as credit toward the Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Enterprise Administrator and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Server Administrator certifications.
